Lesson:65 History

Today i’m going to write about the American Civil War.  If you have not heard about the civil war, then you will know that 675,000 – 900,000 people were killed.

The 11th battle was called First Battle of Bull Run, also know as First Manassas which happened in July 21, 1861.  Just to let you know it is the C.S.A. vs. U.S.A., on the U.S. side 2,896 casualties happened and on the C.S.A. 1,982 casualties happened.

Another tip is that the C.S.A. was once apart of the U.S.  The strength of the armies in this battle was 18,000 each.  In this battle the confederate states won a victory.

Next battle after First Manassas was Battle of Wilson’s Creek which happened in August 10, 1861.  The strength of the U.S was over 5,430 and on the confederate side, was over 12,120.  The casualties on the U.S side was 1,317 and on the Confederate side was 1,232 casualties.

Next major battle was called Battle of Carnifex Ferry was a small battle on September 10, 1861.  Fighting for the Union was over 5,000 and for the Confederacy was over 2,000.  Union got the Victory.

Next major battle was called Battle of Cheat Mountain in September 12-15, 1861.  On the Union side was 3,000 soldiers and on the Confederate side was 5,000.  Union got the victory.

Next major battle was called Battle of Ball’s Bluff, on October 21, 1861.  Union had 1,720 soldiers and 1,002 casualties well the Confederate had 1,709 soldiers and 155 casualties.  Confederate won the battle.

In all there were over 8,000 battles, sometimes the Union would win and sometimes the Confederate would win.  But in all this fighting the Union won the war.

  1. I am a little confused by this sentence. If you have not heard about the civil war, then you will know that 675,000 – 900,000 people were killed.Did you mean to say “not heard”? because if we hadn’t heard we wouldn’t know. sry just wasn’t sure 🙂

  2. Yeah, noticed that too. “If you have not heard about the civil war, then you will know that 675,000 – 900,000 people were killed.” You could change it to say “If you don’t know about the civil war, then you will by the end of this post!” (Just a thought)
